The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of David Paul Dau, a 25 year old from Clinton, Iowa. Mr. Dau was arrested on December 13, 2010 around 5:15 p.m. in Clinton for the crime of Enticing a Minor, in violation of Iowa Code 710.10 (2), a Class D Felony. Upon conviction, a person could be sentenced up to 5 years and/or a fine of up to $7,500.
Mr. Dau will make his initial appearance in Clinton County Court on Tuesday morning, December 14, 2010. He is currently is being held in the Clinton County Jail on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
This arrest is the culmination of an investigation by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Clinton County Attorney’s Office, the DeWitt Police Department, Clinton Police Department, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
All persons charged with crimes are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
